Dr. Mark Fenner, owner of Fenner Training and Consulting, LLC, has taught computing and mathematics to diverse adult audiences since 1999, and holds a PhD in computer science. His research has included design, implementation, and performance of machine learning and numerical algorithms; developing learning systems to detect user anomalies; and probabilistic modeling of protein function.
Ryan Stephens is the President/CEO of Perpetual Technologies, Inc. (PTI) and Indy Data Partners, Inc. (IDP). PTI provides database and IT services to defense and federal government clients, and IDP specializes in database administration and development using mainly Oracle and SQL Server in the private sector. Ryan has been an entrepreneur for more than 21 years, and built his career around the SQL standard language and data management. Ryan has previously authored and taught 20 database-related classes for Indiana University-Purdue University in Indianapolis, and has authored several SQL, database, and Oracle-related books for Pearson Education, some of which are internationally published. The most current book, Teach Yourself SQL in 24 Hours, 6th Edition, was first published in 1998 and has been kept up to date with the evolving standard of SQL. Ryan has been nominated for the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year twice, and PTI was the first veteran-owned company to receive the Secretary of Defense Freedom Award in 2011. Ryan continues to strive to contribute his expertise to organizations seeking to improve competitive advantage by designing and using data more effectively.
McKenzie Lamb is professor of mathematical sciences at DePauw University. in Indiana. Although his graduate work focused on topics in differential geometry, about 10 years ago McKenzie pivoted toward more applied areas, including data analysis, applied optimization, machine learning, and quantitative reasoning. Since 2019 he has been focusing on data visualization utilizing Tableau. Since moving to DePauw University, he has had the immensely enjoyable opportunity to teach a dedicated course called Data Visualization in Tableau as part of their new School of Business and Leadership. He also recently led a Tableau workshop for masters degree students at the University of Colorado Boulder.
Eric Gaze directs the Quantitative Reasoning (QR) program in the Baldwin Center for Learning and Teaching (BCLT) at Bowdoin College, and he is also a Senior Lecturer in the Mathematics Department. He is a past President of the National Numeracy Network (NNN 2013–2019) and past chair of the BCLT (2015–2019). He gives talks and leads workshops on QR course development and assessment, in addition to being on review teams of academic support programs. He is the author of a 2023 QR textbook published by Pearson, Thinking Quantitatively: Communicating with Numbers (3rd edition).
Dr. Dursun Delen is an internationally renowned expert in business analytics, data science, machine learning, and data mining. He is often invited to national and international conferences to deliver keynote presentations on topics related to data/text mining, business intelligence, decision support systems, business analytics, data science, and knowledge management. Prior to his appointment as a professor at Oklahoma State University in 2001, Dr. Delen worked in industry for more than 15 years, developing and delivering business analytics solutions to companies. His most recent industrial work was at a privately owned applied research and consulting company, Knowledge Based Systems, Inc. (kbsi.com), in College Station, Texas, as a research scientist. During his five years at KBSI, Dr. Delen led a number of projects related to decision support systems, enterprise engineering, information systems development, and advanced business analytics that were funded by private industry and federal agencies, including several branches of the Department of Defense, NASA, National Science Foundation, National Institute for Standards and Technology, and the Department of Energy. Today, in addition to his academic endeavors, Dr. Delen provides professional education, mentoring, and consulting services to businesses in assessing their analytics, data science and information system needs, and helping them in developing state-of-the-art computerized decision support systems.
Anne T. Griffin is a product leader and coach with 13+ years of experience building products in 0 to 1 startups and in Fortune 500 giants in multiple industries, including AI and blockchain. She has worked across B2C, B2B2C, and B2B SaaS. Coaching and teaching are her passions of mine, and she has taught guest lectures at Columbia and West Point.
